Job Description

The Department of Economics is looking for junior or senior economics majors to serve as a tutor for principles and intermediate levels of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics: ECON 1201, 1202, 2201, 2202.

Additionally, the tutor will also serve as support to help the Department of Economics in recruitment efforts and enhance diversity among undergraduates in the major. This includes but not limited to attending University Open House, Major Fair,  Department Meet and Greets, Department Information Sessions, Women and Minorities in Economics Group events, and acting as a mentor for economics majors and prospective majors. 

  • 3-5 hours a week.
  • The position is for one academic year. Positions for one semester (Fall or Spring) may be considered
Job Requirements
  • Junior or Senior Economics major during 2023-2024 Academic Year.
  • Must have completed Intermediate ECON (ECON 2201/2211Q & ECON 2202/2212Q) with B+ or higher
  • Able to effectively teach micro and macroeconomics to fellow students
  • Have an interest and willingness to work towards enhancing diversity among undergraduates in the Economics major
  • Sensitivity to the diversity of learning styles
  • Able to keep academic information confidential
  • A positive 'can do' attitude
  • Good customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Dependable
  • Presentable
